We at PS/MS 4 have a nurturing, caring and loving environment for students in grades 3K -2. We ensure that our youngest students in 3k and Prek learn about the world in a play based curriculum. They are able to develop and grow their social skills, fine and gross motor skills, and academic skills all by developing their use of language. As they transition into kindergarten through grade 2, they are introduced to a robust curriculum that includes learning to read via phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension of texts. Students are given the opportunities to share their learning via a multitude of writing projects. The learning in grades kindergarten through grade 2 includes mathematics, science and physical education.
