The middle school experience in PS/MS 4 is a unique opportunity. Students engage in learning across the curriculum, deeply entrenched in social justice. Students explore texts in ELA and topics around identity, diversity, justice and action. Students learn to utilize their voices to be change agents. These voices are honored in ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies. Additionally, middle school students in both 7th and 8th grade are afforded the opportunity and encouraged to enroll in the science and math regents courses.
Students in grades six through eight had an opportunity to learn script writing and produce videos in the multiple topics in social justice such as immigration, food insecurity, housing crisis, green spaces, perceptions in identity, etc.
I love how diverse P.S./M.S.4 is, I love how different cultures are introduced and celebrated. I love the curriculum and how safe my child feels at the school.
